Toronto’s Hottest Councillor
Posted on May 13th, 2010 – 25 great comments. Room for one more!It’s been years since anything like this was attempted and, let’s be honest, this is a survey that all of Toronto has been waiting far too long for. I understand that you, dear reader, may not know the first thing about most, if not all, of these people and that’s perfectly okay. I might suggest that not knowing some of these folks’ backgrounds may make them sexier. The idea here is to be entirely superficial. :)
I think it’ll be fun to leave the poll open until the fall election when all of these faces may change. Perhaps we can correlate the sexiness factor with incumbency.
In the meantime, pick the three sexiest guys and gals (feel free to vote as much as the system will allow), and I’ll try my best to deliver the good news to the winning two offices — one lady, one gent — when the numbers are all in. “Hottest Toronto Councillor 2010″ — that’d look nice on a plaque.

It is quite clear that Mark Grimes filled out all of these comments. I wonder if he was sober when he did this. He is probably the sexiest Santa Claus with the beer belly. But he is more like the Grinch who stole Christmas in Ward 6. Sexy fat guys are usually real unlucky in unemployment lines Mark. That will be where you are on Oct 26, my chubby buddy.

You know, Hilarious Doubter, I suspect that Mr. Grimes did have a hand to play in the popular votes in this contest. However, I look at it like this: I encouraged everyone to vote as many times as the system would allow. Whether this was Mark voting himself, or whether he got his supporters to rally behind him, he's playing fair and square. Every other councillor has the same opportunity. And I decided early on that I would have to leave my personal preferences behind if I were to carry this contest out, so if Mark Grimes wins Sexiest Councillor, so be it! I should point out, however, that TCL-based sexiness in no way guarantees incumbency, so your prediction for the upcoming municipal election may yet pan out.
