A few weeks back Patrick and I went to the grand opening of the latest location of St. Louis on Yonge Street (528 Yonge St.). We both gushed over the food, enough to take some goofy pics of me making a huge mess of myself, as one does when eating BBQ ribs and yummy wings and whatnot, right? Right?
The management came over to investigate the camera flashes and giggling (Patrick’s, I swear! lol). When we confessed the truth about Patrick fave hobby, i.e. TorontoCityLife they were very excited for the free advertising (based on actually enjoyment of gooooood bar food, I swear!). They liked us so much that they offered up a pair of FREE DINNERS at their location!! So, we are sharing our excitement with you, the lovely followers of this site!!
We highly encourage you all to check out the new resto at: 528 Yonge St., Toronto, On. St. Louis Wings. Say ‘hi’ to my pals Stacey + Huda for us!!!
Patrick’s rules:
For you and a friend to scarf down some wicked wings + fries, all you have to do is to post the 3rd comment correctly answering this skill testing question:
Who did TCL proclaim as Toronto’s 2 HOTTEST COUNCILLORS??
*HINT* 1: female, 1: male…..
(comments will open at 5 p.m. EST, June 11, 2011)
see you all later!!!
I love random things and I love taking pictures of random things, things that some people call ‘ART’. Join me here and we can play a game of ‘Where’s Waldo”!
Calling all #Toronto culture vultures! Don’t forget LUMINATO 2011
starts this weekend! with tons of free exhibits! www.luminato.com/2011
Me and my girl will be somewhere in the city. Feel free to find us! ;)
See you there! Stay tuned…
I have had this one burrito many, many times since i met my BF. It is usually Sooo Gooood and warm and juicy too. ” Yum yumm yummmm…”
You’d think it would always be that way, right?
Alas, it was not.: (
I have this burrito here, the rest of, i.e. MOST of it, because I THINK I AM ALLERGIC TO IT… : ( I don’t know why I am having a reaction to it this one time. Poor Ollie is DYING sink his teeth into it because it smells good and tastes better… I hate having to say NO to him but I must.
To this experience I say BOOO… :(
Just plain ol’ Boooo… :(
Lately, I MUST admit I am a lucky gal, luckier than most. I have a solid bf, a loving and affectionate kitty cat, and a bag of pretzels at my side for my salt cravings…
Ok, that is that. I am INCREDIBLY tired lately. Have you other gals ever felt super sluggish and down because of it? The heat might be a factor, but… everything seems to be ‘feeling’ wrong in terms of my body. :( AND I have to take yet another needle today, tomorrow, and always.
I take great joy in the fact that my amazing guy will return later and we will hopefully have dinner together. :D
And YES, I am STILL at home. More mobile than 3 days ago but still at home… like a patient without patience.
Stay tuned cuz hopefully I’ll be walking around this city and dining out and sharing THAT with you instead of my moping.

Not something you wanna see as you’re getting on the bike to go home…
So for his most-hated pick for his “Toronto’s Worst Buildings” list, the Toronto Star’s Christopher Hume chose the soon-to-be-completed Trump Tower, the be-lidded one’s contribution to our skyline and, apparently, the upcoming record holder for the tallest eyesore, erm, building in Toronto.
According to The Don’s typical hyperbolic pronouncements, the staggeringly priced units (starting at just under $1 mill. and going as high as $20 mill.), are “superior” by virtue of the fixtures (your choice of faucets makes you a better person), and by the sheer height from which you can look / spit down on the common rabble from on high.
There are only so many ways to say “walking around aimlessly on a sunny weekend”…
I was shot in the back yet again!! I say shot instead of stabbed because I am being literal here. At this point in time, on a daily basis, I get stabbed/shot all over my body and boy does it hurt!!
I recommend getting shot whenever you have to because it just might be GOOD for you!!
Wondering why? Well, I, like far too many others, have RRMS (relapsing-remtting multiple sclerosis), and as of now, the only approved medications (pharma) are all solely taken by means of injections. = (
‘Owwww!!’ is usually what I say followed by silence for a minute or two, but all of the Liquid Oragel in the world can’t take away all of the pain, just most of it.
That said, I stil highly recommend freezing/numbing the location, I mean, why use it every damn day otherwise…( “Oooh, I think I lost sensation…”)
N.B.: I don’t suggest using it elsewhere…(Our nosy cat can confirm this by the screams after his nose touched the wet swab, again.)
The final steps after swabbing the liquid onto your location of choice (preferably a fatty one) is to decontaminate it with alcohol or something of that nature and to prepare a regular bandage as well. An ICE PACK is also something that comes in handy to literally freeze out the pain and swelling.
Anyhoo, I just had to share with SOMEONE my tale of daily physical, kinda painful for a short time, getting NEEDLES STUCK INTO MY BODY and tell you I lived to tell the tale, after a few tears and a kiss. : ) Nerves of wobbly steel, baby… ;)
My awesome guy injects me each time mostly because I can’t bear to screw it up yet again!!I have done it many times and all of them with limited success, mainly because I am a bit of a chicken. (Does self-admitted take away the sting of saying the words out loud?)
So…that is how we spend most of our mornings. Soooo seedy, hey?? BUT when someone loves you enough to force you to take your meds and/or give them to you, THAT is someone who loves you.
If you have to do something similar I recommend being put in a great mood by your partner or nurse/doctor to relax your body because it makes it hurt much less. OR You can have a drink, but just 1 — it’s safer that way.
Shock and awe, I am a girl who loves a boy who loves to shoot me full of drugs., for all of the right reasons.

I loves me these sugar ships. I know they sneak into my pics a lot but they’re all a little different in their own ways, so as long as I can keep finding new angles, I’m snappin’!
Some park length-wise, basically blocking the slip. But unlike the port-hitched, big-ass, green scoops below, those asshole out-of-city parker ships (am I right?!) use a conveyor to push their raw sugar into the RedPath holding area.
Walked by the other side of that structure once and it’s basically a giant customs warehouse. This here’s international biznatch!
The other thing I whittle my idle hours down with is watching changes in the ship’s pitch. Notice in the pic above how the boat is leaning back in the water (the nose is toward the road). If I was going to pull a sugar heist (a cool Clooney-esque one, of course), I’d be hitting the back of that mutha.
And there’s also something nice about the change in names. Previously berthed ships had all these northern names like “Polaris”, or “Tundra”, or “Frozen Asscheeks”. Now the warm breezes are blowing off the lake over monickers like “Mandarin”. I’m hoping we can avoid “Inferno” this year but Environment Canada, in their usual wishy-washy ways, kinda, sorta, maybe, fifty-fifty, so-so, and otherwise maybe predict that this’ll be a somewhat hot summer. Possibly. Perhaps.
Hotter than last year?! Shit. Well guess where I’m gonna be taking more photos this summer!
No, seriously…guess.
